How Kim's Skin Care Routine Calmed Irritation and Cleared Breakouts

Kim reached out to me for guidance after she tried every product she could at Sephora to clear her skin.

She tried La Roche Posay Toleriane Cleanser, First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser, COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream and Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream to name a few. Product after product she was feeling exhausted from trying different skin care routines without success. She stopped using products altogether and stuck to tap water to wash her face.

After her skin was getting progressively worse, she booked a holistic Skin Analysis so that I could help her find a skin care routine that works and help her adjust along the way.

When we started working together, Kim's skin was feeling really irritated. There was a lot of texture and she was experiencing new breakouts every day which was really frustrating. What concerned her the most was the texture and redness that was visible on her cheeks, and it would bother her a lot in photos.

STEP 1 - CALM REDNESS

The first thing we did was focus on repairing her damaged skin barrier so that we could calm her skin and stop premature skin aging.

We introduced the Suntegrity Trifecta Power Mist that she could use in the morning with a cotton round to gently refresh her skin and to use as a toner in the evening. We chose the Zyderma Clarifying Cream to use under the TIZO AM Replenish SPF 40 to strengthen her microbiome and protect her skin during the day. We then added the Consonant B3 + Zinc Serum on alternating nights to jumpstart the healing process. She finished her evening skin care routine with the NeoGenesis Barrier Renewal Cream.

After about two months, Kim's redness was way down. We also noticed that her texture started improving but her dryness was still of concern.

STEP 2 - QUENCH DRYNESS

Heading into fall at the time, I knew the seasonal change was going to challenge her skin barrier so we got ahead of it by switching her evening cleanser from the NeoGenesis Cleanser which has a gel to foam consistency to the Glo Gentle Cream Cleanser

I equipped her with some ClearChoice Intensive Moisture Squalane Oil to keep moisture in her skin at night where she applied just a few drops over her NeoGenesis Barrier Renewal Cream to reduce dryness and flakes on her skin.

Within about a month of this shift in protocol, Kim's moisture levels were improving. I took this opportunity to start refining her skin texture.

STEP 3 - SMOOTH TEXTURE

At Kim's 3 month mark, she renewed my service with a Follow-Up. During this 30 minute virtual appointment, we discussed her next steps.

The first thing we did was introduce an exfoliating night. Now that her skin barrier was repaired and dryness was less of a concern, we added the NeoGenesis Mandelic 8% starting once a week and ramping up to three times per week to prevent new breakouts from coming up.

At this time, she finished her MB-1 spray and was questioning if she should continue using it or if there was a product that would benefit her more greatly.

Seeing as her microbiome was stronger than ever, we decided against the MB-1 and switched her to the NeoGenesis Booster, a 40% human stem cell molecule serum to hydrate her skin and heal existing breakouts.

In just two months of this revised protocol, Kim's skin improved dramatically. Her skin is now clear, smooth and moisturized! Take a look at the video below to hear Kim's experience working with me at Skin Discovery:

In Kim's words:

"It's great to have advice from an expert and not be tempted by the trending things you can buy or see on social media. I appreciate having an expert opinion who can tell me what's going on, explain things in clear terms and give me a step by step and then also help me adjust along the way. It's so valuable to learn from someone who knows what she's talking about".
