Over the past 5 years, I've seen firsthand how inflammatory skin conditions can damage self-esteem. I studied cognitive behavioural therapy and body image theory so that I can better serve my clients who need mindset support specific to how their skin is affecting the way they see themselves.
I get it because I've been there. Not only do I have over five years of experience treating skin topically, I also have experienced a host of inflammatory skin conditions myself. Having struggled with low self-esteem for years, I'm able to relate to your experience and guide you in healing your body image.
I'm here to support women of all shapes, sizes and skin tones. I recognize the important differences between light and dark skin and strive to be a weight, race and sex inclusive practitioner who respects diversity. As such I take a personalized approach to every client I work with.
HOW IT WORKS
What to expect
In your first coaching session booked at the beginning of the week, we'll dive into how your brain works, why your thoughts matter and the cognitive distortions that when reinforced, lead to anxiety and depression. Throughout the week, you'll name your brain and identify your negative thought patterns. You'll book your second 30 minute session for this module after at the end of the same week or next, where you'll learn how to reframe your thoughts so that you can start to live your life more confidently.
In the second module, we'll dive into your affective body image by exploring how you currently feel about your appearance. You'll develop awareness of your emotions, discover how to process them effectively and gain insight into exactly what you need to change... as this insightful knowledge is power!
In your third module, we'll dive into your behavioural body image by exploring what you currently do as a result of your appearance. You'll get curious about your tendencies and behaviours and this will allow you to have a greater understanding how you are creating you reality. You'll start to foster self-compassion so that you can start to promote feelings of self-kindness and acceptance.
In your fourth module, you'll discover what makes up your belief system. You'll learn how diet culture and the beauty industry have shaped some of your beliefs. You'll practice intuitive journaling to explore where your perception was created so that you can discover the possibility for you to change what is no longer serving you. You'll also learn how to change your thoughts long-term so that you can feel better, take more productive actions and create the results you want in your life!
In your fifth module, you'll learn how to build a thought ladder, how to come back to your body when you feel triggered and you'll also discover how to practice becoming your most authentic, confident self. Together, we'll create new beliefs, goals and habits that will serve you better.
Your final coaching module will start with a guided meditation where you will utilize everything you've learned to see yourself in a completely different life. You'll then create an identity script that will become a powerful tool that you can use daily to come back to who you are and where you're headed so that you can live your life aligned and with new found confidence!
